Screenshots And/Or Concept Art for CL 2

This topic is self explanatory. I'm taking a big leap of faith in saying I'm pretty sure by now we should at least be seeing 'some' or at least one screenshot. I'd even settle for some concept art. I strongly believe this is a reasonable excuse to create a unique thread. I first hand understand the importance of keeping things on the down low, but it'd be a good gesture of faith to the community that has continued to fuel the flame on CL and now CL 2.

I'd mock something up using Notrium as the basis, but I don't want people to confuse that with official screenshots. I also want to make it very clear I am not working on CL 2 in any capacity, not even beta testing, I'm on the same page as everyone else. Oh and please don't use this an opportunity to 'beg'. I'm not begging for anything, just saying what I believe is possible and this thread would be a good place to do it. Uh yeah, wordy enough, if you guys disagree with me, feel free to say so, as I've grown some pretty thick skin over the years lol.

I've just read your thread, and I must go to bed. ( :) just joking. ryhme: read - thread... whatever) What I've meant to say is that I already have an idea about what I could make... so there is a great possibility that i'll make some postings here when (if) I do it. Actualy I've had a similar idea unrelated to Crimsonland (just the concept it self)... You'll see... probably.

PS: How to post it? (from some other location by URL or can I upload it on this forum?)

Re: Screenshots And/Or Concept Art for CL 2

Fair enough. Here are three screenshots taken from the old cl2 tech demo. A lot of stuff has and will be changed after that build in those 'shots.

http://koti.mbnet.fi/temper/cl2-shots/cl2-development-shot-01.jpg

http://koti.mbnet.fi/temper/cl2-shots/cl2-development-shot-02.jpg

http://koti.mbnet.fi/temper/cl2-shots/cl2-development-shot-03.jpg

Anyway we've got now pretty much figurered out what we want and what we don't want to do with the game, so we are going to keep a very low profile about cl2 for the next few months. That is until we've got something playable to show. It will simply be released when it's done, I can't give you any release dates, not even any vague ones.  So please don't send me email only concerning about the release date or when-it's-done -- please believe me I've already got my share of those :)

Obviously we will continue moderating the forums etc, but don't expect that all questions get answered at this point.

Thanks :)

Re: Screenshots And/Or Concept Art for CL 2

HAHAHA!!!! I love it! The trooper in the menu pic kinda looks like one of the Enclave troops from Fallout 2.

The lighting effects(glowing or whatever) in the third pic are amazing. These pics should hold me over for the next few months:)

Re: Screenshots And/Or Concept Art for CL 2

how about a "music demo" with one or more parts of the music in-game?

Re: Screenshots And/Or Concept Art for CL 2

It's different; no doubt about it...
Style is completely different;
the gameplay looks completely different;
things look more cartoonish.

It looks like as if Crimsonland was just a small test prior to this...

What? There is no dude from the original game's cover?

http://www.reflexive.net/arcadeimages/box/9_200x200.jpg

I thought that concept was excelent.

Re: Screenshots And/Or Concept Art for CL 2

You shouldn't draw TOO many conclusions based on those pics, that stuff is likely to chance. Anyway maybe the guy under that armor/suit looks like the one on cl1 cover ;)

No final music have been composed for the game yet.

OK, but, as I've said before, I think that there really is some point in realism as far as Crimsonland game is concerned.

(Crimsonland theme music is really appropriate to say the least (it's great!) - I usualy set it to be the only music for the game during playing.)

Re: Screenshots And/Or Concept Art for CL 2

Yeah, soldier art can be as cool as it wants to be- the gameplay is what matters and it doesnt matter much when the trooper is only a few (dozen) pixels big.

Re: Screenshots And/Or Concept Art for CL 2

I don't know. It doesn't look "Crimsonlandish"; now it's something else... kind of.
Nevermind; as long as it's a good game to play.

(anyway strangely the masked environmental armored suit reminded me of a sketch I made some time ago for some (alien) character (originaly for the other gender, but it can be adapted))

Another thing: why the trooper is red?? I prefer the black one, as I will see it the entire game!

Re: Screenshots And/Or Concept Art for CL 2

Maybe you can choose your own colour. It wouldnt be a too far fetched idea.
Seems to be a lot of 'user profile' action going on in this sequel. Which is good, I dont like other people [who use the same computer as me] changing my settings. Make your own damned profile, says I.

Re: Screenshots And/Or Concept Art for CL 2

Color changes would be nice, but having names floating over users would be even better. It might be kewl to see some level of customization on the player graphic itself, I mean that graphic is tiny and shouldn't take any time at all to be cached. Though a bit more back on topic, I'm curious to see any concept art of anything unique to CL 2 that wasn't in CL.

Mayb,,, the game could cater for one's own sprite for use as your character - within restrictions of course, like res, format etc. -------yayay!!!

With every day that passes, we get one day closer to release! think of it like that, and it takes no time at all.

Hey Tero, can I use those pics for backgrounds and stuff?

no, but I can edit them, cut them into little pieces, and shine them up. did you not see the heading on the first one?

MP is in the plan, I think
