i always liked the gladiator-esque helmet of the original dude, even though he basically never showed up anywhere in the game proper.
it seemed like aquirky thing that made him a "slightly-more origininal than the others" type of badass protagonist.

Hello, i am a fan of CL from russia, so sorry for my lame english)))
i have seen this screenshots, they are very good, but they a not looking in crimsonland style.
They a colourful and bright... but original CL keept dark and almost monocolored pallete.
Also, where you fonud your 3D designer? there is 2007year in the world, but the soldier looking like he\she was pasted from demo of the KKND. An scoolboy after 2 weeks of studying 3dMax can do better)))))))
Can you use more detailed polygonal modeling with more hi-technological texture and post effects(night shader from meltal ray will add wery drammatic point of view) for menu screen? It is not so difficult in 3dSmax...
Also, who not allowed you to code simple 3d engine? I agree, your flat one is looking nice, but why you are not looked in the future?
In 3d you are wery simple can correct colour balance by applying full screen shaders, also perfomance of today computers will allow to render hordes of creatures quickly, and compute dynamics of the bodies, spreading away after blast(BOOM!!! Cool idea, yeah?))))). There are many dynamic based engine sources, why you not used HL Source, for example...? It is not too expensive.
I know, there is nothing to do because game is almost complete and will be finished with this design, but i have a question:
Where was wasted the time and money(your games isn't free)???? You could do a better game.((((

Fair enough. Here are three screenshots taken from the old cl2 tech demo. A lot of stuff has and will be changed after that build in those 'shots.

Anyway we've got now pretty much figurered out what we want and what we don't want to do with the game, so we are going to keep a very low profile about cl2 for the next few months. That is until we've got something playable to show. It will simply be released when it's done, I can't give you any release dates, not even any vague ones. So please don't send me email only concerning about the release date or when-it's-done -- please believe me I've already got my share of those :)
Obviously we will continue moderating the forums etc, but don't expect that all questions get answered at this point.
Thanks :)
great ,its just gonna be great

Except the fact that that news is more than 2 years old and they still haven't released even a tech demo yet while they said CL2 will see daylight 2008.
And for all those who strangely has a computer but not a calendar, we've got 9 days till 2009.

They haven't said what numeral system they meant when they told about 2009. ;)

Umm, I am pretty sure they were using the general numeral system, because they said that news in their last news of 2007.
So unless they were using something like Maya Calendar...
