One funny idea for Crimsonland 2 (in a black comedy sort of way):
A hidden rush game where you are a president of a fictious country (e.g. ..."Nabwoona" or something), your character holds a meeting in front of 100.000 people or so and then all of the sudden your character says: "People of Nabwoona... SCREW YOUUUUUUUU!!!" :D, and then they turn into an angry mob and start yelling and trying to get to you to lynch your character, and they throw rocks at you and molotovs. Your character has a kalashnikov (sweeping the masses) and a revolver, and then you try to remain alive as long as you can (of course they get to you sooner or latter, but the number of them is limited, so maybe someone finds tactic to win actually - remaining alone (living) on the street - sort of "THE ULTIMATE DICTATOR" or something... :) ).
Yea' OK, maybe that game would be a bit harsh... but we can't know before someone makes it. (Wait a minute - was someone doing something on modding Crimsonland 1? ...hmm)

please don't ever speak again. i mean that in a completely nice and unconfrontational way. so please don't be offended. it would simply be best for all involved if you didn't speak.

:) What? Why?
I mean - I clearly said things like:
"(in a black comedy sort of way)"
and
"Yea' OK, maybe that game would be a bit harsh..."
...But don't forget that these things happen in reality - I mean: look at some African countries - tribal primitive men with no pants carrying firearms, self-proclaimed dictators committing multimillion genocides for stupidest of reasons, making uneducated indoctrinated people organize small armies to kill each other for most silly and absurd benefits (if any) - innocent persons ending up killed caught in conflicts... sad facts of the world.
Rising public awareness about this issue through such satiric ways could hit the spot right-on - I mean what are those who lead masses to death but madmen making more people suffer for their, basically, personal issues. It's not far from what such game would depict - no matter how downright absurd (cause, man, war is absurd in itself).

Added:
See - it shocked you - you was repulsed by what I said - and that would be the EXACT effect such mod would precisely count on.

:)) What? You to? How come? :)))
Jeez - you people sure take things too seriously. Come on - relax! This is all for fun. :)
(anyway - if they put all the things I proposed Crimsonland 2 would become the coolest game in the world!)

Well, no offense dude, but I personally don't really think that "this all" is any close to being fun. And it's not about taking things too seriously, but rather having slightly different opinions of what's fun 8)

Might I also remind:
"A hidden rush game"
Most people wouldn't find it at all (like that with clicking "o"'s in credits of the original Crimsonland).
You are missing the (obvious) point - it would exactly count on that preposterousness.
...And thus it would count on the message about what IN ITS BASIS war actually is, and how stupid and absurd it is.
I mean - do you sincerely do not see analogy between a politician leading people to war and what I 'by-the-way'ed here (but it turned into this discussion).
What you're doing is having wrong point of view and implying about me (based on that wrong point of view) something which is insulting to me.
And I say that it's meant non-seriously, yet you don't get it and continue. So who's the only bad guy here?
---
Jeez. One talks about something completely virtual and non-serious (a freaking video game*), yet they call a freaking United Nations meeting about it.

What people are saying is that your idea is in bad taste, and you shouldn't have brought it up even if you disclaimed it the way you did. Nobody on the internet reads philosophy into anything unless you are explicit, and to be honest the rest of your posts sound like you're trying to backpedal on an idea that you thought people would enjoy and are shocked or embarrassed that they did not.
Real games are not a catalyst for political dialogue. They are not a tool of satire. They are not an expose' of the world's problems. People play real games to escape reality's pains like that. If you want to make a tech demo and call it art, go for it, but don't suggest it as entertainment.
On a side note, I don't know if it was ever established, but the plot for Crimsonland is similar to that of Notrium; The trooper is stranded on the planet, and an action he takes (in this case, firing that first shot) alerts the hive mind of all aliens on the planet. Unfortunately, in the case of the Crimsonland Trooper, there is no rescue on the way.

(...mind you - we are talking about an inconspicuous hidden gimmick, not the official regular game-play... yet you act as if you (somehow??) understand otherwise...)
Heck, I could have never ever imagined that characters here would take seriously something which is so obviously meant so obviously non-serious. Why does it matter to you so much - ask yourselves! Game is a game - it doesn't matter, it's non-serious. I never thought you would have this perspective (and so strong!). It's like you (for some reason??) bring into connection reality and a mere computer game, so you got that aggravated. I guess psychology has to do with it. ...Come to think of it, I remember from psychology theory that people who react to such negative things the way you people do here in fact have those conflicts internally in themselves... which makes me wonder about you characters...

(PS: as for my previous ideas (suggestions for improvements of perks and bonuses, as well as new effects), I just post them (discussing them is not the point) - if one would make a game-play examples of my perks, effects (both visual and audio) and bonuses, then suddenly you would realize what I talked about and you'd get the point why they're cool, but you don't bother to imagine, right...)

...Forum is for fun, posting is for fun (spare time), not the subject of the idea. There I said "One funny idea for Crimsonland 2 (in a black comedy sort of way)" - 'funny', like in 'this smells funny' - it doesn't mean you enjoy smelling bad stuff.
What you imply what 'fun' is for me (from your misunderstanding of what I meant) IS insulting.

i think this project (CL2) have been cancelled. possibly they will release each year a new perk as an update to gain as much money from this franchise as much they can but thats all. its just sorrowful.

Nah. I last spoke with Tero in July. They've had to focus on other projects but they ARE still working on it, although I agree they should pick up the pace :P
To quote him in an email, "Our plan has always been to make some other projects to earn enough slack to be able to work on CL2 - our dream project." "We're now starting to be at a point where making CL2 full-time doesn't risk our jobs if it does "just average". One thing hasn't changed though: we still very much want and intend to make CL2 reality."
So just hang in there. They'll release it when it's ready. :)
