Paypal Account Fraud

Not to point fingers, but I have reason to believe that this site may have something to do with a fraudulent paypal purchase that appeared in my inbox today, only 2 hours after registering with this site. Shame on me that I used the same password here as I do for paypal -- I have learned my lesson. Either someone on the inside has access to the username/password database here, or it was hacked. If the former was the case, this topic will probably be promptly deleted. I have not had any troubles up until today, and it happened only 2 hours after registering with this forum.

Could it be coincidence? Sure. I would put money on the chance that it's not, but someone would probably just steal it anyways.

If you are going to register with this forum, I HIGHLY suggest using a password and even perhaps an email address that is completely un-related to ones that you use to make internet purchases with, or anything important in general. From now on, I will use discrete passwords everywhere.

Lol. Sorry, that make me laugh a little. Thanks for the warning! You can never be too sure.

Re: Paypal Account Fraud

The forum admins have no knowledge of any password leaks. Additionally the forum software encrypts all passwords, so they are useless even if they leaked. However, in general it's good advice not to use the same password everywhere as leaks can happen and if there was no encryption the passwords can be used.
