im not sure if this has been suggested but i was thinking and i rekon a cool perk would be a gun selector, say u could trade 1/2mill points or something and be able to choose a weapon. Also maybe a reflex boost you can use when u want - say u can collect 1min of reflex boost and use it in bursts
perhaps even having different ammo for guns - i guess though that could be related to current perks, or perhaps fire rate - burst, auto etc
Or (just brainstorming here) a metal storm gun (i think thats the one) that can shoot (theoreticaly?) something like a million rounds a sec. it could be a special wep or something, but wouldn't that be fun. i guess though it would just turn out to be a laserish blur.
perk ideas (not sure if these have been suggested)
levitate - you could float above the enemies for a bit?
invisibility - invisible for a while
monster upgrade - make the monsters harder to kill = more experience points (i guess that happens currently
though as the game goes on???)
teleport - able to teleport somewhere
freeze but bonus pickup - you can freeze the screen but still pick up bonuses (i think this would be very helpful imho)

invisibility has, in fact, been seen (as contradictory as that may seem). the early versions of the game had a perk that made you fade in and out of sight, supposidl making the enemies not track you as well, but I didn't notice any difference.

In Diablo 2 there was a Necromancer curse that hypothetically made monsters kill each other. Didn't do anything.
For AI of huge numbers of enemies (like in CL2) complex logic trees for each one would demand a collossal amount of proccessor space.

i would use an invisibility like in D&D where undead can still see you.

You dont need complex logic trees for every monster. Maybe some would be smarter than others?

how about a weapon modifier that makes ur gun shoot different colour bullets and types of dmg like cold ice etc
