10tons Reveals Undead Horde 2: Necropolis – a sequel to the popular RPG-RTS hybrid

Sep 1, 2022

Tampere, Finland, September 1st 2022 – Multiplatform game developer and publisher 10tons reveals today Undead Horde 2: Necropolis – a hybrid between real time strategy and role playing genres. In Undead Horde 2 the player becomes the King of Undead possessing the ability to raise and command undead minions. The grand task is to rebuild the ravaged home of the undead – The Necropolis. The game is slated for PC, Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch releases in 2023. Mobile versions will follow after the PC & console launches. Early Access version will most likely release on Steam late 2022.

“The first Undead Horde is one of our best selling titles and we decided we wanted to create a fitting sequel. Enhanced minion creation mechanics are the main gameplay improvement when compared to the first Undead Horde. In the first game you could only raise as minions exactly the same units you killed, but this time it’s all up to the player: You can raise any unlocked unit from the enemy remains. This results in a more controlled experience from the gameplay perspective as you can fine tune your army composition to your liking.”, said Sampo Töyssy, the project lead of Undead Horde 2.

In Undead Horde 2 the player awakens from a tomb after the nefarious living razed their once mighty home city of Necropolis. In the process, the living captured souls of all undead denizens into magical containers called soul jars. This was a desperate bid to cling on to their loved ones after their death. The player’s task is to conquer the lands of the living and free the stolen undead souls back into the Necropolis.

Undead Horde 2 is built using 10tons Ltd. proprietary game engine technology and is primarily targeted at PCs and current & next generation consoles. Plans for mobile versions will be announced at a later date.
